Analyze a File

Explain how local uploads, media-library imports and status updates work in the actual plugin workflow.

Two ways to start

Editors can start analysis in two ways:

  • Upload from computer when the file has not been added to WordPress yet.
  • Choose from media library when the file already exists in the site workflow.

What happens under the hood

The plugin creates an upload session, sends the file into AudioLinter object storage and starts the cloud analysis from there. That means the analysis path is the same whether the source began on your computer or in the WordPress media library.

What the UI should show

  • Uploading while the file is still moving.
  • Queued after upload completes and analysis has been started.
  • Analyzing while the worker is processing the file.
  • Completed once the result is available.

What editors should look for

The most important thing is not the raw numbers alone, but whether the file is safe to publish. AudioLinter combines loudness, peak and dead air findings to give a clearer pass or fail signal, while still showing the underlying values for context.

Quota and reset

The plugin surfaces the current plan, how many analyses have been used today and when the quota window resets. That means editors do not need to guess whether a blocked action is temporary or plan-related.
